Puppy Training in Buffalo- Prevent Behavior Problems from Starting!
Puppies are a joy…and can be a handful! With this new year starting, I’ve already gotten the flurry of puppy training calls, as many people got “holiday dogs” and are looking for someone to get their pups into behavioral shape.
My Buffalo puppy training program might seem simple, but it is a wonderful way to set up your puppy for success and a smooth transition into adulthood. Puppies are not only brand new to their owners, but also to the world. Generally, they are a clean slate that is seeking out direction and someone to show them the ropes. Without any leadership present, a puppy could take that leadership role upon themselves, which could lead to dominant behaviors and potentially aggressive behaviors. Other cases might include a puppy becoming nervous and scared without a leader, and therefore will display skittish behavior and constant anxiety.
If interested in enrolling your puppy in in-home training which will follow a reward-based philosophy and positive reinforcement methods, consider my Buffalo puppy training! The program will include some of the following:
- House breaking / crate training
- Separation anxiety prevention
- Basic commands (ie: Sit, Down, Stay, Heel, Place)
- Leash manners
- Redirection of playful puppy nipping
- Good manners in the home
- Socialization and desensitization tips
- And more!
If you have a puppy, consider training as it is a GREAT benefit for your puppy and you! Basic commands are great for a puppy to learn, but be sure to take it a step further by showing your puppy how to acclimate to your home and the lifestyle you both will be living together. My puppy training will set you and your puppy up for success so that he/she can mature into a well-behaved grown dog, and you have the dog that you want for a lifetime! Failing to train your puppy can not only lead to serious behavioral problems, but can damage the bond between you and your puppy. Even if your puppy is not exhibiting signs of behavior issues, don’t wait around until they show! Take the initiative and be the leader for your puppy!
